Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
[The 1928 BCP adds:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.]
We took each verse and I had the students tell me what it meant. I didn't prompt them or correct them.
Our God who loves to create Art
Your name echoes thorough our hearts.
You are king of earth and heaven
You will rule
Give us awesome food
Forgive us for being disrespectful and entering where we should not
And forgive those who are disrespectful to us
For your "Star Spangled Banner" will last forever.
Thank you and we are done for now.
Can we go play now?
